How do astrology / tarot / esoteric arts play a role in your life?
I learned about astrology during the times where I felt most curious and was searching for something deeper. I find it to be a beautiful, nuanced, endless supply of inspiration in which I can rely on when I can’t seem to find my way through a situation.
What limiting beliefs / blocks have you worked through to get where you are today?
Imposter syndrome. Working in an industry that has a reputation of being closed off and superficial, it’s easy to get lost in that cycle. I quickly learned that connecting to people who make you feel grounded is a quick way to get through it. To this day, two of my best friends are people who I met within my first (insane) year working in fashion. I’d like to eventually get to a place where that feeling is completely in the past.
Why do you think creative exploration and expansion are important in today’s world?
There is a way in which creative exploration can connect us together like nothing else. With the world currently feeling so overwhelmingly divided, I think we could all rely on this practice a bit more to find external peace within our communities.
How do you nurture balance in your life? Any tips / tricks on how to enjoy yourself and stay grounded?
Not to be dramatic, but my life changed when I discovered natural wine!! I find it to taste more exciting and alive than conventional wines—exactly how I want my experience to be drinking it. The only ritual I have is to look people in the eyes while cheersing, it’s my whole family’s only superstition.
What’s filling your cup this season?
Chilled French reds from the Loire Valley, and planning a trip to Mexico City to ring in my 30th year with the people I love.
Who and what is inspiring you right now?
My grandmother passed away in 2023 but I continue to find inspiration in the life she lived. She was a fierce political activist, a true creative, had wickedly kaleidoscopic style, and loved her family without exception.
Dream dinner party guests – dead or alive.
Frida Khalo, Gloria Steinam, Georgia O’Keefe, Maya Angelou.
Where’s your happy place?
My parent’s lake house, in the rural Midwest. During the wintertime, we lay in the middle of the frozen lake and listen to the sounds of snow falling around us. It’s the closest I’ve come to complete and utter peace.
